Taramani
In the southern Indian metropolis of Chennai, Tharamani is a significant neighborhood. Numerous government educational and research organisations as well as the first IT parks in the city are located there. World-class IT parks located here, including Tidel Park, TICEL Biotech Park, ASCENDAS, and Elnet Software City, are renowned. Situated in south Chennai, it is close to the affluent residential area of Adyar.
The Old Mahabalipuram Road serves as the main thoroughfare in Tharamani, where the majority of the organization's buildings are located. Originally serving as the primary route to Mahabalipuram, this road is now less commonly utilized due to the development of the East Coast Road (ECR). The IT corridor is the new moniker for it. The Tharamani Link Road, which connects Taramani and Velchery, is another significant road in the region.
Tharamani begins at the Madhya Kailash temple, which is located at the intersection of Sardar Patel Road and Old Mahabalipuram Road. Adyar, Thiruvanmiyur, and Velachery are adjacent to Taramani. Taramani's emergence as a well-developed neighborhood in South Chennai would be aided by the advancements in Velachery and Perungudi, two nearby communities.
The first Information Technology (IT) park of its kind in south India was founded in Tharamani and called Tidel Park, and it is home to numerous IT enterprises. Prior to the construction of this IT park, the majority of the surrounding land was undeveloped. Additionally located in Taramani is the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
An integrated film studio complex located in Taramani is called MGR Film City. It was first called JJ Film City after the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, MG Ramachandran, and was developed in 1994 primarily to draw in tourists and filmmakers.
One of the seven IITs, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, is bordered by Tharamani. In addition, a number of research facilities and institutes, including the most famous polytechnic in Tamil Nadu, Central Polytechnic (CPT), Voluntary Health Services, Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), and National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), are located in Tharamani.
Because of the booming IT industry in the area, the area is growing quickly. It has been given good road infrastructure and is growing into one of Chennai's better residential areas. Constructed on the popular avenue of Thanthai Periyar Nagar, the Taramani Railway station is ready for operation. This location has easy access to the metro train system as well as seamless connectivity.
